24 hrs with Photographer Rosaline Shahnavaz

Rosaline Shahnavaz is an award winning photographer from London. Her personal work often depicts honest and intimate relationships. These motifs are repeated and translated into her wider range of work in both her editorial and commercial practices.


6.30am Wake up, groan and press snooze

6.45am Ben brings me tea and cereal and we eat in bed

7.00am  Get up, get showered, get dressed

7.30am Read my emails and edit some final photos for Topshop

8.00am Leave the house and sit on the northern line from Clapham South to Camden Town

9.00am Meet sister for a tea and discuss our ideas for some new projects

10.30am Head to my lab in East London to collect some prints

11.30am Back on the tube going home to my studio to work on the new shots (start looking at them on the tube, too excited to wait until I’m home)

12.45pm Edit photos and send off to client

1.00pm Phone meetings with exciting clients regarding shoots next week, nibbling lunch inbetween

2.00pm Start prepping kit and film for 5 days back-to-back shooting next week

3.00pm Pack for 3 day trip to a friend’s in Edinburgh (train at 10pm) whilst listening to mac demarco

4.30pm Head to Ladbroke Grove for a portrait shoot

4.45pm 15 minutes early so I grab a muffin and look at emails in a cafe

5.00pm Shoot the portrait

6.00pm Say bye, head East to drop off my film for processing

7.00pm Dinner with Ben in at our favourite Thai restaurant in Brixton – we talk about our days and finally wind down

9.00pm Back home, grab bags, get train to sunny Edinburgh!
